Meesho Diwali 2026 Seller Checklist: Stock, Dispatch, Returns
By Vanshika - ecommerce seller & educator, @chitraabyvanshika (100,000+ followers)
Diwali 2026 falls on Sunday, 8 November, with Dhanteras on 6 November and Bhai Dooj on 10 November. For a Meesho seller that means three things in the next three weeks: lock your price floor before you discount anything, stock up on products and packaging before suppliers and couriers get busy, and plan which days you will dispatch and which days you will pause. Then get ready for the returns that arrive after the festival.
This checklist goes week by week. None of it needs money you would not spend anyway; it needs a plan made before the rush, not during it.
What changes in the festive season
- More orders, especially in gifting and festive categories such as ethnic wear, home decor, lights and diyas, and gift items.
- Busier couriers and suppliers. Pickups and restocks can take longer than usual, so slack in your plan disappears.
- Discount pressure. Competitors cut prices and it is tempting to follow without checking what you keep.
- Returns after the festival. Orders bought in a hurry and for gifting come back after the celebrations, so the cost of the season is not known until weeks later.
Three weeks before (now)
Find your price floor for every product. Before joining any discount, run each product through the Meesho price calculator with a realistic return rate. The price it gives you is the lowest you can list at without losing money on average. A festive discount below that floor sells more and earns less.
Check stock on your best sellers. Look at what sold most in the last month and reorder now. If a supplier is slow in normal weeks, they will be slower in November. Sourcing options are in where to buy wholesale for Meesho.
Stock up on packaging. Polybags, boxes, tape and label rolls run out at the worst time. Buy enough for your highest-volume week, not your average one.
Fix your weakest listings. Clear photos, a real size chart and an honest description cut returns in a season when returns are expensive. See Meesho product image requirements and the size chart guide.
Check your shipping slab. If a product sits just over a weight cut-off, a smaller pack saves money on every festive order. Run it through the shipping calculator.
Two weeks before
Set up the daily dispatch routine. Download labels at the same time each day, crop and sort them by product with the free label cropper, and pack product by product. The full routine is in how to print Meesho labels and how to pack Meesho orders.
Decide your days off now. You will want Diwali itself, and maybe Bhai Dooj, with family. Plan them rather than letting orders go late, because late dispatch hurts your account. Meesho's holiday option and what it does to your listings are explained in Meesho holiday mode.
Ask your helpers early. If family members help pack in peak weeks, show them the routine now: how to read the SKU and size on a label, and how to check the product against it.
Start recording packing videos for high-value orders and products that get "wrong item" complaints. Claims after the festive rush are decided on evidence.
Festival week (6 to 10 November)
- Dispatch before your days off, not after. Clear every pending order the day before you pause.
- Keep stock numbers honest. If something sells out, update stock instead of accepting orders you cannot ship. Cancellations hurt more than a sold-out listing.
- Do not chase every discount. If a sale price goes below your floor, let that one go.
- Keep packing quality the same at the busiest moment. Rushed packing is how size and colour mix-ups happen, and each one is a return later.
After Diwali: the returns weeks
The season is not over when the lights go off. Returns from festive orders arrive over the following weeks.
- Open every return on video, from the sealed parcel onward, so wrong or empty returns can be claimed.
- Raise claims quickly. There is a short window after a return reaches you.
- Read the return reasons per product. Size, colour and quality complaints tell you which listings to fix before the wedding season.
- Reconcile your payments. Festive volume makes it easy to miss deductions. The routine is in Meesho payment cycle.
- Work out what the season really earned, returns included, in the Meesho profit calculator, before you decide what to stock for next year.

FAQ
When is Diwali in 2026?
Diwali is on Sunday, 8 November 2026. Dhanteras falls on 6 November and Bhai Dooj on 10 November.
How should I prepare my Meesho shop for Diwali?
Set a price floor for each product before discounting, reorder your best sellers and packaging early, fix photos and size charts on top listings, and plan a daily dispatch routine and your days off before the rush starts.
Should I join every festive discount?
Only when the sale price stays above your price floor after returns. More orders at a loss only make the loss bigger.
Can I take holiday on Diwali as a Meesho seller?
Yes. Plan it in advance, dispatch every pending order before you pause, and use the holiday option rather than letting orders go late.
Why do returns go up after the festive season?
Gift and impulse purchases come back after the celebrations, and wrong-size or not-as-expected items are more common when buyers and sellers are both rushed. Good photos, a real size chart and careful packing keep the number down.
