My story

I grew up in a middle-class family in Delhi, and this whole thing started while I was still in college - with one quiet dream every girl like me seems to carry: to actually be financially independent, on my own terms. So I started a small kurti brand called Chitraa. Jaipuri-style printed kurtis were trending and worked for almost every age group, so I picked two styles - peplum-top and strap kurtis - sourced the fabric straight from Jaipur, found a fabricator to stitch it, and started listing on Meesho while making Instagram videos to sell them.

Then I lost ₹30,000 finding out nobody could fit into what I was selling. I’d bought 20 fabric designs and only got them stitched in Medium and Small - and it took a full three months to realize that was the entire problem. People liked the kurtis. They just couldn’t buy them. By the time I figured it out, the money was gone into fabric and travel, nobody trusted a brand nobody had heard of, and Meesho’s return charges turned almost every order into a loss. That was the real education - not a course, not a mentor, just watching my own money disappear because of one basic mistake.

It took a full year of changing strategy, sleepless nights, and finally fixing the sizing to actually turn a profit - and that’s the exact moment I knew I actually understood what I was doing. Around then I started Chitraa by Vanshika, just posting short vlogs about my own journey. After 40-50 videos, people started messaging with real questions about starting their own stores. I realized I’d already paid for those lessons the hard way - so instead of watching more people make my ₹30,000 mistake, I started teaching what I’d actually learned. That’s this site.
