Meesho Creator Club: How It Works and What You Earn

Meesho Creator Club is Meesho's affiliate programme for content creators. You make a short video featuring a product, share your tracking link, and earn a commission when someone buys through it. There is no inventory, no investment and no minimum follower count. The commission is the part worth understanding before you start: catalogued products pay roughly 4% to 25%, while non-catalogued products pay around 0.5% - and which one you promote makes more difference to your income than your follower count does.

What Creator Club actually is

Meesho now runs three separate things that people constantly mix up:

Creator Club is pure affiliate marketing. You never touch stock, never handle a customer, never deal with a return. You are paid for the sale you caused.

Meesho launched Creator Club properly after a 2024 pilot, which the company said produced a threefold rise in order volumes from content-led commerce. Payouts run on a weekly cycle rather than the long settlement gaps affiliates are used to.

The commission number that actually matters

Most articles quote "up to 25%" and stop there. The full picture is more useful:

• Catalogued products: roughly 4% to 25%, depending on category
• Non-catalogued products: around 0.5%

That is not a small gap. It is the difference between ₹125 and ₹2.50 on a ₹500 order.

Creators routinely generate links, see one product showing 9% and another showing 0.5%, and assume something is broken. Nothing is broken - one product is in the catalogued pool and the other is not. Check the rate shown next to the product before you spend an evening filming it.

Rates also vary by category. Fashion, beauty and home items generally pay more than electronics, which is the same pattern you see on almost every affiliate programme in India.

Who can join

The bar is deliberately low:

• 18 or over, resident in India
• Valid ID, an active social media account, and a bank account
• No minimum follower count - Meesho has been explicit that nano and micro creators are the target, and has pushed the programme specifically at creators in Tier 3 and Tier 4 cities

You register through the Creator Club portal, get approved, and then generate product links inside the Creator Dashboard. Each link carries your tracking code, which is how Meesho attributes the sale.

Approval is not automatic for everyone. If you are rejected, third-party affiliate platforms such as EarnKaro, Cuelinks, Wishlink and similar services also carry Meesho and generally have looser eligibility, though rates and terms differ from the direct programme. Compare before assuming one is better.

How creators actually earn on it

The loop most Creator Club earners run looks like this:

1. Pick a product with a decent commission rate and genuine demand
2. Buy it yourself so you have it in hand to film honestly
3. Make a short video - styling it, reviewing it, showing it in use
4. Post it, and ask viewers to comment a keyword like "link"
5. AutoDM sends the link - Creator Club has a feature that replies to those comments with the product link automatically, which saves you doing it by hand
6. Commission is credited once the order is confirmed and the return window has closed

That last step is the one people forget. Your commission is not final until the buyer has passed the return window, because a returned order is not a sale. If your audience returns heavily, your confirmed earnings will sit well below your reported clicks.

The honest maths on earnings

A common example doing the rounds: a ₹500 product at 10% commission earns ₹50 per order, so 100 sales from one reel earns ₹5,000.

The arithmetic is right. What it leaves out:

• Not every viewer clicks, and not every click buys. Getting to 100 orders from one reel is a very good outcome, not a typical one.
• Returns reduce it. Meesho's audience returns more than most, and a returned order pays you nothing.
• The 0.5% products. If half your links are non-catalogued, half your effort earns almost nothing.
• You usually buy the product first. That is real money out before any comes in.

None of this makes Creator Club a bad deal. It is genuinely one of the lowest barriers to earning online in India. But treat "₹5,000 from one reel" as the ceiling of a good month, not the baseline of a normal one.

If you are a seller, this affects you too

This is the part almost nobody writes about, and it matters if you sell on Meesho.

When a creator promotes your product and someone buys through their link, that commission has to come from somewhere. Sellers have reported affiliate fees appearing in their Payments section under recoveries - the same place other deductions show up.

We are being careful with the wording because Meesho's public documentation is much clearer about the creator side than the seller side, and the specifics appear to vary. Do not take our word for it, or anyone else's. Open your Supplier Panel, go to Payments, and read the recoveries line on a real order. That is the only source that tells you what applies to your account.

If affiliate fees do apply to your orders, the maths is straightforward and worth doing deliberately:

A creator-driven sale is worth having if the commission costs you less than the sale earns you. On a product with healthy margin, paying 10% for a sale you would not otherwise have made is a good trade - that is cheaper than most ad spend. On a thin-margin product that is already covering shipping, GST on fees and a return buffer, the same 10% can push the order into a loss.

What not to do

• Never buy through your own link, and do not ask family to. Self-purchases and manipulated sales are explicitly prohibited and get accounts suspended.
• Do not use expired or cloaked links. Tampering with tracking voids earnings.
• Do not promote products you have not seen. Your audience returns what does not match the video, and returns pay you nothing.
• Do not ignore the commission rate before filming. Filming a 0.5% product properly costs the same time as filming a 15% one.

Is it worth doing?

For creators: yes, if you already make content. It costs nothing to join, there is no follower minimum, and weekly payouts are unusually fast for affiliate income in India. It is a genuinely reasonable side income and a poor full-time plan.

For sellers: it can be, if your margins carry it. Creator-driven sales bring demand you did not pay to create up front, which is structurally better than running ads. Just confirm what it actually costs you in your own settlement before deciding it is free marketing.
