Meesho Affiliate Commission Rates: What Each Product Pays
By Vanshika - ecommerce seller & educator, @chitraabyvanshika (100,000+ followers)
The number that decides your income on Meesho is not your follower count. It is whether the product you featured sits in the affiliate catalogue or not. Catalogued products pay a real commission. Everything else pays around 0.5%, and that gap is wide enough to make two identical videos earn ₹90 and ₹2.
This page is the rate detail: what each product type pays, what the rupee figure looks like on real Meesho prices, and where the published numbers disagree. The programme itself is explained in the Meesho Creator Club guide.
The two rates that matter
| Product type | Commission | What it is |
|---|---|---|
| Affiliate catalogue | roughly 4% to 25% | Products Meesho has put into the creator catalogue, mostly fashion, home, beauty and lifestyle |
| Non-catalogued | roughly 0.5% | Any other product on Meesho you generate a link for |
Most catalogued fashion, home and lifestyle products are commonly reported around 9% to 10%. The 25% end is not the normal case - it appears on selected products, usually high-margin categories or items Meesho is actively pushing. Plan on the 9% to 10% band and treat anything above it as a good week.
Rates are not fixed for all time. Meesho adjusts them by category and by campaign, and it does not publish a permanent public rate card. The number in your own creator dashboard on the day you make the link is the number that counts. Anything you read on a blog, including this one, is a guide to the shape of it, not a contract.
What that is in rupees
Meesho's average order value is low. That matters more than the percentage, because a good rate on a ₹300 product is still a small number.
| Product price | Catalogued at 9% | Catalogued at 20% | Non-catalogued at 0.5% |
|---|---|---|---|
| ₹250 | ₹22.50 | ₹50 | ₹1.25 |
| ₹500 | ₹45 | ₹100 | ₹2.50 |
| ₹1,000 | ₹90 | ₹200 | ₹5 |
| ₹2,000 | ₹180 | ₹400 | ₹10 |
Read the last column again. A ₹1,000 sale on a non-catalogued product pays ₹5. You would need eighteen of them to match a single catalogued sale at 9%. Checking the catalogue before you film is not an optimisation - it is the whole job.
Working out what a video is worth
Take a realistic set of numbers rather than a hopeful one. A creator with 8,000 engaged followers posts a reel featuring a ₹699 catalogued kurti at 9%.
- Reel reaches 12,000 accounts
- 300 people tap the link - a 2.5% click rate, which is healthy
- 9 of them buy - a 3% conversion, which is normal for affiliate traffic
- 9 × ₹699 = ₹6,291 in sales
- Commission at 9% = ₹566
Then subtract what does not survive. Some of those orders come back - fashion returns on Meesho are high, and a returned order pays nothing. At a 25% return rate you are left with about ₹425 from one reel.
That is the honest shape of it. One good reel is a few hundred rupees, not a few thousand. Volume and repetition are what turn it into income, which is the same conclusion the earnings section of the main guide reaches.
When the commission is confirmed
Commission is not earned at the moment of the sale. It is confirmed after the order is delivered and the return window has closed. Anything sitting in "pending" in your dashboard is a figure that can still go to zero.
On the direct Creator Club, payouts run on a weekly cycle to your registered bank account once amounts are confirmed. On third-party affiliate networks the terms are slower - confirmation can take up to 90 days and payouts are usually monthly. That difference is one of the main reasons to prefer the direct programme when you qualify for it.
TDS applies to commission income once you cross the annual threshold, and it is deducted before the money reaches you. You do not need a GSTIN to earn creator commission - it is income, not a sale of goods.
Why published rates disagree
If you search this topic you will find 4%, 9%, 10%, 15% and 25% all stated as "the" Meesho affiliate commission rate. They are not contradictions so much as different things being described:
- 4% to 25% is the range across the affiliate catalogue.
- 9% or 10% is the typical rate on mainstream fashion and home products.
- 15% appears in some third-party network listings, which negotiate their own terms with Meesho and are not the same programme.
- 0.5% is non-catalogued, and is the number most guides forget to mention at all.
If a page quotes one flat percentage with no mention of the catalogue split, it has not looked at a real dashboard.
The seller's side of the same number
If you sell on Meesho, this commission is a cost, not an income. It appears on the settlement of the order it generated. Whether a creator sale is worth paying for depends entirely on your margin on that product, and that maths is worked through in Meesho Creator Club for sellers. You can model it on your own product in the free Meesho profit calculator.
FAQ
What is the Meesho affiliate commission rate?
Products in Meesho's affiliate catalogue pay roughly 4% to 25%, with mainstream fashion and home products commonly around 9% to 10%. Products outside the catalogue pay roughly 0.5%. The rate shown in your creator dashboard on the day you create the link is the one that applies.
Meesho Creator Club kitna commission deta hai?
Affiliate catalogue ke products par lagbhag 4% se 25% tak, aur aam fashion aur home products par zyadatar 9% se 10%. Catalogue se bahar ke products par sirf lagbhag 0.5%. Isliye link banane se pehle check karo ki product catalogue me hai ya nahi.
How much do I earn per sale on Meesho affiliate?
On a ₹1,000 catalogued product at 9% you earn ₹90. On the same ₹1,000 product outside the catalogue you earn about ₹5. Meesho's average order values are low, so per-sale commission is usually between ₹20 and ₹150.
Does Meesho pay commission on returned orders?
No. Commission is confirmed only after the order is delivered and the return window has closed. A returned order pays nothing, and pending commission in your dashboard can still reduce.
Is the commission rate the same for all categories?
No. It varies by category and by campaign, and Meesho does not publish a fixed public rate card. Fashion, home, beauty and lifestyle carry the strongest rates because that is where the affiliate catalogue is concentrated.
Do I pay tax on Meesho affiliate commission?
Yes. It is income and TDS is deducted once you cross the annual threshold. You do not need a GSTIN to receive it, but you do need a PAN.
