What is inside the Amazon label PDF

When you download labels and invoices together for Easy Ship or Self Ship orders, the file alternates:

Three things about this layout matter when you pack:

1. The label is already 4x6 in shape. It is a 4x6 inch label blown up to A4, so it fits a thermal sticker without any cropping of its content.
2. The label is a picture. It carries the address, AWB barcode, order id, ship date and courier sort codes, but there is no text layer behind it.
3. The SKU is only on the invoice. The label shows an "item type" in a small table, not your SKU, size or quantity. To know what goes in the box you have to flip to the next page.

That last point is where packing time goes. With 30 orders you are matching 30 labels to 30 invoices by order id, and a multi-item order (three pairs of shorts in three sizes, for example) is easy to under-pack.

Step by step: from Seller Central to printed labels

1. Download labels and invoices together from Manage Orders for the orders you are shipping today. Menu names change from time to time; you want the option that gives you the label and the tax invoice in one PDF.
2. Open the free Amazon label cropper and drop the PDF in. You can drop files from more than one seller account at once.
3. Check the pick list. The tool reads each invoice and lists every SKU in the batch with the total pieces and orders.
4. Choose 4x6 thermal or A4, 4 per sheet, keep the SKU strip on, and press Make my PDF.
5. Print at 100% or Actual Size and scan one barcode with your phone before you print the rest.

The tool pairs each label with the invoice that follows it. If an invoice runs to two pages, both are read, so the SKU strip shows every item in that order.

What the SKU strip adds

Under each label you get a strip like this:

When a parcel has more than one piece, the Qty box prints white on black. A small "2" is easy to miss at the end of a long day; a black box is not.

Thermal 4x6 vs A4: which to use for Amazon

Because Amazon's label is already 4x6 in shape, the thermal option is the cleanest: one label per sticker, no rotation, nothing cut off. On A4, four labels fit on a sheet with a slight shrink; print one test sheet and scan it before the batch.

The print setting that decides everything

Every print dialog defaults to something like Fit to Page or Shrink to fit. Turn it off and choose 100% or Actual Size. Rescaling changes the width of the barcode bars, and a barcode that fails at the pickup scan means a delayed handover.

On a thermal printer, also set the paper size in the printer settings to 4x6 inch (100 x 150 mm). If the label prints tiny in a corner, the printer is still set to A4.

Pack in SKU order, not order-id order

Sort the labels by SKU and the same product comes out together. You pull each SKU off the shelf once, pack all its orders, and move on. Orders with more than one SKU go to the end of the batch, where you can give them full attention.

The A4 pick list from the cropper also counts packages per seller account, which helps when one courier picks up for two accounts.

Common problems

"SKU not found" on some labels. The file had labels without their invoices. Download labels and invoices together, not as separate files.

The same parcel printed twice. You dropped the same download twice. The cropper skips a label whose AWB is already in the batch and tells you how many it left out.

Barcode does not scan. Almost always the Fit to Page setting. Reprint at 100%.

Labels from Meesho or Flipkart in the same pile. Each marketplace lays its PDF out differently. Use the Meesho label cropper and Flipkart label cropper for those files.
