How to Crop and Print Flipkart Shipping Labels (4x6 Thermal and A4)

To print Flipkart labels without wasting paper, download the labels PDF from Seller Hub, cut out just the label box at the top of each page, and print it on a 4x6 inch thermal sticker or several to an A4 sheet, always at 100% scale. The free Flipkart label cropper does the cutting in your browser and adds the SKU, size and quantity in large print under each label.

What is on a Flipkart label page

Flipkart gives you one A4 page per order:

The label box is narrow, a little over 3 inches wide and about 5 inches tall. On a 4x6 thermal sticker the full A4 page cannot fit, and printing the whole page on A4 uses a sheet per order for a label that takes up a fraction of it.

Unlike Amazon, Flipkart prints the SKU ID and quantity inside the label box, in a small table. It is readable, but the type is small. When you are packing 40 orders, a large SKU line under the label saves squinting.

A few other things on the label are worth knowing:

• COD or PREPAID is printed at the top, next to the order id.
• Two dates are printed on the left side of the label (marked HBD and CPD). Check them against the dispatch dates in Seller Hub.
• An order can list the same SKU on two rows, one piece each. That means two pieces of the same product in one parcel.

Step by step: from Seller Hub to printed labels

1. Download the labels PDF for your active orders from Seller Hub, after generating labels for them. Use the PDF as downloaded, not a photo or scan.
2. Open the free Flipkart label cropper and drop the file in. Several files from different accounts can go in together.
3. Look at the pick list for the batch: each SKU with total pieces and orders. Rows of the same SKU in one order are added together.
4. Pick a print size: 4x6 thermal, Flipkart's original label size, or A4 with four labels per sheet. Keep the SKU strip on.
5. Press Make my PDF, print at 100%, and scan one barcode with your phone.

Which print size to choose

The 4x6 option centres the label on the sticker and enlarges it slightly to use the space, with the SKU strip at the bottom. On A4, four labels with strips fit on one sheet at almost their original size, so barcodes scan the same as on Flipkart's own page.

Print settings that matter

• Scale: 100% or Actual Size. Fit to Page rescales the barcode bars, and a barcode that fails at pickup costs you a day.
• Paper size on a thermal printer: 4x6 inch (100 x 150 mm), set in the printer's own settings as well as in the print dialog.
• Test one label first after any change of printer, driver or roll.

Pack faster by sorting by SKU

With labels in the order Flipkart gives them, the same product turns up again and again through the pile. Sorted by SKU, it comes out together: pull the stock once, pack all its parcels, move on. Orders with more than one SKU go to the end so they get a careful check.

When a parcel holds more than one piece, the cropper prints the quantity box white on black, so a "2" does not get packed as a "1".

Common problems

The label prints small in a corner. The thermal printer is still set to A4. Change the paper size to 4x6 in the printer settings.

The same order appears twice. The same file went in twice. The cropper skips labels whose AWB is already in the batch and shows how many it left out.

State or address cut off. You are printing the full page scaled down. Crop first, then print at 100%.

Amazon or Meesho labels in the same batch. Those PDFs are laid out differently. Use the Amazon label cropper and the Meesho label cropper for them.

Flipkart's seller documentation says to pack the invoice inside the parcel and paste the shipping label outside. The cropper only builds the label file, so keep the original PDF and print the invoices from it for packing.

Is my label file uploaded when I use the cropper?

No. The Flipkart label PDF has customer names, phones and addresses, so the cropper reads it inside your browser and never sends it anywhere.
